Time Management: What It Is and Why It Matters for Pre-K Students

A present is waiting for pre-kindergartners! It’s ‘time,’ one of their eight personal resources. But what can pre-kindergartners do with time? Time is a valuable gift that allows for productivity when handled wisely. Understanding how time passes allows pre-kindergartners to look forward to brighter tomorrows, leading them towards health and happiness.

For pre-kindergartners, time can seem infinite as they have virtually no responsibilities or commitments.. This can cause them to overindulge in playtime without worrying as much about learning their letters, rest, and other necessary activities. Although they have more personal time than adults, they need to learn to manage it efficiently so they are able to manage tasks in the future. .

"Time management entails making wise decisions as to which tasks are most important and allocating time accordingly."

Time management is not an easy task; it requires dedication, commitment, and responsibility. To teach pre-kindergartners how to manage their time, coach Manager Slanager jumps in the class to help them. Once his visual aid is posted, he engages in a cheerful discussion with the class.

Here, the students gain a deeper understanding on the importance of time in making things happen. The students learn to think about the positive use of time, then they practice it to feel good about themselves. As a reinforcement, the whole class sings a song about time management before the lesson ends.

When time is not managed wisely, loads of work can pile up and dreams can be neglected. To avoid these undesirable consequences, it is important to develop and utilize effective time-management skills.

Time management entails making wise decisions as to which tasks are most important and allocating time accordingly. This lesson equips pre-kindergartners with time management skills to help them improve their talents, academic performance, and self-concept.
