The road to a healthy lifestyle may not be easy, but it is worth it. Having good physical health improves the quality of life by reducing stress, enhancing mental clarity, and strengthening the body against diseases. With these benefits, one can reach their full potential and enjoy life to its fullest.
In this evidence-based health education lesson, kindergarten students review all the physical positive actions for good health with their puppet friends, Picks-It and Nix-It.
This review lesson aims to establish healthy habits among students to help them thrive personally and academically. By improving students’ behavior toward their health, they can nurture self-love, improve their self-concept, and make positive decisions that can improve their lives.

Students revisit the Goodbody Shoehouse, where they have learned all the positive actions to be physically healthy. They first knock on Ellen Eat-Right’s door and remember to eat healthy food. Then, they visit Kathy Keep-Clean and remind themselves to practice personal cleanliness to wash dirty germs away. Next, they visit Patty Push-Up’s room and are inspired to exercise daily for optimal health. As they pass through Suzie Sleep-Enough’s room, they see her sleeping through the window and remind themselves to get adequate rest.
The kindergarten class proceeds to look for the rest of the Goodbody family. On their tour through the house, they find Brian Brush-Well brushing his teeth before the mirror. They then wave at Harry Harm’s Not when they pass through his room; Harry reminds them not to misuse or abuse harmful substances. The next door is Dean Do-Right, who also reminds students not to use medicines incorrectly and always seek the guidance of an adult. Before the class leaves the Shoehouse, they bid goodbye to Stanley Stay-Well, who reminds them to prevent the spreading of diseases by taking positive actions.
As the students bid farewell to the Shoehouse, they receive their keys to the Land of Physical, symbolizing their newfound knowledge and commitment to a healthy lifestyle. This key will also unlock Castle Self-Concept at the end of their adventure.
The impact of this lesson reaches far beyond the classroom as the students carry their newfound understanding of physical health into their daily lives. By embracing these positive actions and cultivating a healthy lifestyle, they set a strong foundation for a future filled with vitality, resilience, and the ability to embrace opportunities.
